Invest in Quality in the PA Early Childhood budgetThe highlight of the proposed budget is $75 million for a new program, Pennslyvania Pre-K counts, to provide 11,000 children with a high quality pre-k experience. In addition, the budget includes significant new resources for other critical early childhood education investments such as more funding for subsidized child care, Keystone STARS and the promise of a state health insurance program that would be available at low-cost for many early childhood workers.
